FLAG MATERIAL:
There are many things to consider when purchasing a flag and flagpole for outdoor use. The material choice for a flag is based on how often you are going to fly and the typical weather you experience, especially for everyday flag display. Please visit our Outdoor Flags & Sets page for more information.
FLAG SIZE:
To determine your flag size, choose a flag length that is between 1/4 and 1/3 the height of your flagpole, especially for inground poles. Residential house-mounted flag poles are typically 5’ or 6’ and are best suited for a 2 1/2 ‘ x 4′ banner or 3′ x 5’ flag. A flag has metal rings called grommets on the heading, which are used to attach the flag to the pole. A banner has a pole sleeve and the pole slides through the sleeve and has a tab inside the sleeve that clips to the pole.
A two-way mounting bracket will allow you to fly your flag or banner on a 45-degree angle (typical for flags) or 90-degree angle (typical for banners), simply a matter of personal preference.
